Louisburg United Methodist Church has been designated by the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund as a Healthy Congregation. This program pairs the energy of the local church with a grant source to promote the four dimensions of health (spiritual, emotional, social, and physical) in our congregation.
The LUMC Healthy Congregations Team engages annually in a grant application process which includes a needs assessment, designates specific programs or events to meet these needs, and then works to fulfill the programs or events. Once our Healthy Congregations grant application is approved, a financial grant from the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund is received to assist in covering the cost of the events.
There has been a team working on the walking path for some time as it is a major undertaking. The plan calls for the path to wind along the edges of our beautiful property and include outdoor heritage elements such as the rock altar, the old stone wall, the bell tower and the Columbarium. There will be memorial benches and posts with boxes which will hold scriptures and prayers. Several families have donated memorial funds to this walking path, which, along with the grant funds, will keep the project in motion.
