Good Afternoon LUMC,
The Louisburg Homecoming game is tonight so let me say "Go Wildcats!" Good luck to the football team, the cheerleaders, the jazzy cats, and the band! I hope you get to go to the game to cheer on our youth!
This weekend Pastor Ed will be preaching since Pastor Shane is on renewal leave. Thanks to Jean Carder and LaVonne Mize for reading scripture for us and also thanks to Diane Chastain & Melissa Schmollinger for serving communion. The music team this week features Jess Brummel, Ben Brummel, Jacob Mann, Ellen Morland, & Brayton Bruggen. I'll see you either at 8:30 or 10:30! Please continue to use this Sunday Volunteer link to sign-up for scripture reader, communion servcer, front door greeter, sanctuary greeter.
Remember, if you worship online, text "Sunday4" to our church text # 913-521-5673 so we know you're worshipping with us. That text # is the same text # you receive church text updates from. You can give that number a name in your phone easily. Save the number then type in a name "LUMC Text." If you have any questions, see me Sunday.
The middle school youth group will be handing out M&M's to the Halloween on Broadway kiddos on Saturday, October 22. If yo'd like to bring in some M&M's, please leave them on the Connection desk.
This is the last Sunday we will be collecting these specific items for the Agape Food Pantry (canned vegetables, canned fruit, dry pasta, canned chicken, & canned tuna). Please bring donations to church and place in the baskets at the Connection desk. Starting September 16, we will begin to collect different items. I'll send those to you next week.
Looking forward to the Churstmas season, you might be interested in the following opportunity...Sabra Brueggen is selling poinsettias to fundraise her choir trip to New York in the spring. She has an online order form here and will have paper copies available at the connection desk this Sunday. She'll deliver the poinsettias to your home the first week of December or you can leave them here at church for decoration and/or in memory of someone and then take them home on Christmas Eve. Sabra will be here Sunday if you have any questions.
Blessings to you,
Shawna Heien
