Greetings Louisburg UMC,
I hope that you've had a wonderful week!
This is the Sunday you don't want to miss! First, don't forget that we have one (1) service this week at 9:30 am. Right after worship will be our all church meeting that will include current church updates, unveiling of our building plans, and the plan for our "Better Together" capitol campaign! If you can't join us in worship both worship and the meeting will be live streamed. Our church staff and leadership have been working on the building and the plan to make it happen for three years. We have a lot to discuss on Sunday!
In worship, we are continuing our sermon series called "Kingdom: What can Chiefs Kingdom teach us about the Kingdom of God?" Our focus this Sunday turns to time in the Kingdom of God. Time in a football game is one of the most important parts of the game. Coaches who manage game time are always more successful than coaches who don't manage time well. In the Kingdom of God, time is also important. As Christians, we mark time in terms of eternity and the Kingdom of God. What does that mean for time in the way we live our lives now?
Baptism and New Member Sunday: Are you interested in being baptized, having your children baptized, or becoming a member of the church, please contact Shawna at shawna.heien@louisburgumc.org. Pastor Brad is hosting coffee with the pastor to prepare for joining the church and baptism coming up on Monday night August 23 at 6:30pm.
Labor Day Parade Float: Would you like to be a part of the church float for the annual Labor Day parade? Please see Shawna for more information.
Better Together Kickoff: Sunday September 12 will be the kickoff for the Better Together capital campaign. We will have 1 service at 9:30, followed by a short presentation on the campaign, team meetings (everyone gets to join a team), and lunch.
You’ll be surprised when you drive into church Sunday! The parking lot has been resealed, & striped by a local gentleman out of Paola.
Blessings,
Pastor Brad
