Greetings Louisburg UMC,
I hope that you have had a wonderful week!
I want to begin this email by addressing the wearing of masks. I PRAY that this is the last time we have to talk about masks! As I'm sure you heard, the Centers for Disease Control updated their guidelines this week for wearing masks. The guidelines say that if you have been vaccinated you do not need to wear a mask. Therefore, in consultation with the Leadership board of the church, we are taking the following 4 steps:
- We will no longer have signs on the doors stating that masks are required.
- If you feel like you need to continue wearing a mask, please do so. If not, then come to church without a mask. We are not going to check and see who has been vaccinated.
- The most important part of all is respect. As a church family we have all been through a lot together over the past year and a half. Especially now, as we enter the end of the pandemic, we must strive to respect the decisions that each one of us makes for ourselves and our families.
- I will no longer be preaching with a mask on. I'm looking forward to preaching Sunday more than usual because I won't have a mask on!
On Sunday, I hope you will join us for week three of our "Celebrate" sermon series! We have a large group of seniors who will be graduating this year, and I hope that you will join us as we celebrate our graduates. After worship on Sunday, we will also have a youth mission trip meeting at 11:30am.
Next week, on Sunday May 23, we will celebrate Pentecost. I hope that you will wear red to celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit! We will also be kicking off our summer outreach as well. Lots to celebrate!
See you Sunday!
Pastor Brad
