Sunday is going to be awesome! Here is what we have going:
  1. One worship service this week at 9:30 am.
  2. Communion is back! Beginning this Sunday, we will return to communion every week. Until it is safe, everyone will be given a prepackaged communion wafer and cup upon arriving for worship. 
  3. The theme for worship on Sunday is "Build it..... and they will come?"
  4. As part of the service Sunday, we will have a special prayer time as we honor the 20-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
  5. After worship, we have the kickoff for our Better Together capital campaign.
  6. As we begin our campaign, we need YOUR help. After our introduction to the campaign, we will be splitting into teams that will serve different roles in the campaign. 
  7. After the team meetings, lunch will be served in fellowship hall.
  8. As you come to worship on Sunday, I will invite you to bring hand sanitizer, or health and beauty items that are being collected for "The Hub" in Kansas City, Kansas. We will be collecting for "The Hub" through the entire month of September.
As part of the Better Together campaign, we have Better Together shirts, and pens for everyone. To help us offset the cost of the shirts, we are asking for a $10 donation per shirt. You will also be the first to see our new signs that will welcome everyone to worship. 
Next week, we will have a capital campaign leadership meeting on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm. Everyone is invited! We will learn a little more about how everything works in a capital campaign, discuss the team meetings, and finalize the brochure and case statement. 
Last Wednesday was our first community night here at the church. Our adult group had a great conversation! The next 2 Wednesday nights, I will be teaching on the Bible, its structure, etc. I hope you will join us at 5:30 for dinner and at 6:00 for learning and discussion.
