Weekend Update from LUMC

Greetings LUMC,

Hope you are staying cool during this heat wave!

Saturday morning is the Funeral for LUMC Member, Pat Swenson at 10:30am.  Following is a family meal we are providing. 

We are in need of some food donations (or cash/check) for the following food items for the meal: hawaiian rolls (60), ham, cheese, chicken salad, crossiants, then two lettuce or green salads (cole slaw, broccoli, salad, etc), 2 Jell-O or fruit salad, and 2 potato salads, 6-7 side dishes, and 6 desserts. Saturday afternoon is the "Pie Social" Meet & Greet at Ron Weers Park.  This is a great opportunity for you to meet Pastor Shane & wife Toni from 5-7pm.  We'll have pie & ice cream!

Because of the funeral & family meal, we have been unable to decorate for VBS!  Marilou will be at the church at 5pm to begin the decorating.  PLEASE, if you can, come up and help.  Also, if you have any fake plants we can borrow, bring them with you Sunday (put your name on them please).  We'll get them back to you as soon as VBS is over.  If you signed up to bring any VBS items, please bring them up to church on Sunday (including cookies/brownies).  Thanks so much!

Sunday services are at 8:30 & 10:30.  We are actively encouraging people to read scripture, serve communion, be door greeters, and kiddos to acolyte at both services.  

Sunday afternoon starts VBS!  The volunteer meal will be served beginning at 5pm. VBS itself starts at 6pm.
